- Augusta Read Thomas
Augusta is currently the composer in residence with the Chicago Symphony. I’ve written on her music, but it’s best to experience it for yourself.
- Chen Yi
Chen Yi is a Chinese composer now living in America. In addition to writing for western instruments, she also incorporates traditional chinese instruments and sounds.
- Stephen Andrew Taylor
Steve teaches at the University of Illinois. He’s a fine composer and his wife Hua Nian is an exceptional artist. Well, both are exceptional. Check ‘em out.
- Simon Speare
Simon has commissioned a piece from me for his ensemble to perform next March. He’s fresh off the release of the first CD of his music: Big Noise. It’s witty and inventive. The website has clips so you can decide for yourself.
